About Me
& my skills:

I discovered hypnotherapy on my journey toward becoming a psychotherapist. I’ve always felt a strong desire to support others in the mental health field, which began as far back as I can remember. Growing up, I developed body-focused repetitive behaviors, initially triggered by bullying I experienced at age six. By the time I was 15, this behavior evolved into trichotillomania, a condition that has come and gone over the years, remaining a part of my life for nearly 35 or 36 years.

Professionally, I spent 22 years in Human Resources, specializing as a recruiter. My role involved finding the right fit for various companies in sectors like mental health, engineering, medical devices, and manufacturing. I always saw recruiting as similar to therapy in many ways: evaluating if someone is a good match based on their personality, skills, and experience. Similarly, as a hypnotherapist and licensed therapist, I conduct assessments to create treatment plans tailored to each client.

In 2020, I decided to return to school to fulfill my dream of becoming a psychotherapist. Along the way, I encountered hypnotherapy and experienced its benefits firsthand. Working with both a therapist and a hypnotherapist, as well as attending support groups for body-focused repetitive behaviors (through the TLC Foundation), has greatly reduced my urge to pull.

Special Interests:

My own journey has led me to work especially with clients who are facing trauma and other life challenges. Trauma can deeply affect our sense of safety—whether physical or emotional—and it can prevent us from reaching self-actualization, as described in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. When we’re stuck, it’s like running on a hamster wheel, always chasing what seems out of reach. This often leads to negative self-talk, distortions, and incongruent feelings and behaviors.

Beyond trauma, I’m also here to support clients with issues around motivation, self-esteem, fears, phobias, grief, memory, confidence, public speaking, and career goals. My background in HR makes me a good fit for clients looking to reach their full potential in the workplace. For those with bipolar disorder, I’m open to working with them in coordination with their licensed therapist or psychiatrist, provided they have reached a stable baseline with their medication.

I hold special certifications in working with transgender clients, grief recovery, CBT, caregiver support through hypnosis, and Reiki (Levels I and II).

Approach:

I use a therapeutic approach that combines hypnotherapy and traditional therapy to assess each client’s needs and create a personalized treatment plan. By building a sense of safety and connection, I work with clients to help them explore the roots of their challenges and discover effective pathways toward healing.

Through hypnotherapy, I aim to help clients access their subconscious mind, where many of our behaviors, beliefs, and fears reside. Hypnotherapy can be a powerful tool for reducing harmful habits, such as body-focused repetitive behaviors, and for increasing resilience and self-awareness. My approach is warm, empathetic, and highly individualized, focusing on each client’s unique journey toward growth and self-actualization.

My Favorite Quote:
“Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs – and becoming who you are.”
~Rachel Naomi Remen
